Blue Christmas

Today my mom was trying to figure out some ideas for our families Christmas cards. So I decided to sit down with her and figure out some of my own. My mom was working on a pink/white card and I thought I go with the light blue. It actually came out better than I thought. The card base is white and all the bottom corners are rounded. The blue cardstock I used white ink and embossed the snowflakes with white glitter embossing powder. The main image, I stamped the santa with blank stazon and then used watercolored crayons(which I got to use them before my mom, LOL!!) to add just a little color to him. The fuzzy parts of his robe I put stickles for some glitter and his mustache and beard is Ranger White Pearls. It actually has added texture to the beard and mustache so that is cool. The ribbon is see thru light blue with white dots from May Arts. All the stamps are from PaperTrey Ink.
I hope everyone has a great day!!!!!!

Have Your Cake and Eat it too!!!!!

We just got in the new Papertrey Ink stamp sets. I love the set "Piece of Cake", it has so many cute cakes and many different ways to use them. I wanted to try the Tri-fold card with the slice of cake. It worked perfect in the center of a scallop circle. I added some stickles to the layers of the cake and also the centers of the flowers.

I picked two new numbers from the first Blog Candy since I have not heard from the two ladies I said from yesterday.
The first new comment is number 32, and that is Brenda Waldner.
And the second winner is number 1, and that is Cheryl KVD.
Please email me your address so that I can get out your "JoAnna's Jems" to you!!!

Pokemon Frame Update

I wanted to show you the coolest thing.

I made a Pokemon Frame earlier this month out of some extra cards that I had. I received a comment from Lorie about how much her son loves Pokemon and would no way let her make a frame out of his cards. I decided to email Lorie and find out if I could mail her son the frame as a gift, and guess what, she said yes!!!! So of course I had to ask my mom if she could mail it for me and of course she did. I saw a comment from Lorie that it arrived and she would put a picture of her son with it on her blog and here it is. Isn't Kyler the cutest? I love it. I made him smile BIG!!!!! That is so cool. Thanks Lorie!!!!!

Kyler, I am so glad you like the frame!!!!!!

Hello, boy did my weekend get away from me. My Aunt, Uncle and cousins finally got here from their move from Alaska. They were at my house all day on Saturday. I had so much fun. Thank you to everyone about the words of encouragement about my grades. I think I will be ok, I just have one class that I have to talk to the teacher tomorrow, so we will see, but I am sure it will be ok. I just worry when grades come out, my mom likes them to be good and so do I.

Ok, enough about school...... I have to announce the winner.

The winner of "JoAnna's Jems" is comment number 12 and that would be resmith!!!!!!! Please email your address so that I can get out all these wonderful goodies.

And now for some news... most of you know that I gave away 3 blog candies a week ago and only received and email from one. If I do not get an email from Paula or Jailbird by the time I get out of school tomorrow afternoon, I will do the random.org for two more people.

I promise there are 4 of the Joann's ribbons and then a plastic box that has 3 different spools to equal a total of 3 yards.

JoAnna's Jems will start tonight and end Friday night. I will use random.org to pick a number and post the winner Saturday morning.

For this give away, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post.

Pumpkin Place Setting & WINNERS!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone, I am sorry I did not post this earlier, my mom is having problems with the computer that has my pictures on it so I had redo the photos.

I saw this on someones blog a few days ago and thought they would be cute as place settings for our Thanksgiving dinner this year. My Aunt, Uncle, and cousins just moved here from Alaska and we will be having lots of family over. I made one for everyone and will be making other things to go along with it. I will show those a little later. As soon as the other computer is fixed I will let you know whos blog these are from, I had it saved and I do not remember whos it was. I punched 4 Giga Oval Scallop Punch (purple) and and then folded them in half and glued then together, I put a green ribbon in the center of the ovals for the stem. I then used the small and large oval punched from Stampin Up and tied it to the ribbon using silver cording also from Stampin Up. I hope this makes since. Tomorrow I will put pictures up to show exactly how they are glued together.

And now for the WINNERS, this was soooo hard and it took me a long time to decide. I used random.org to pick the comment number.

I have picked the blog candy name to be "JoAnna's Jems", and who came up with that is Paula Spychala!!!! Yippeee for Paula. Thanks for the new blog candy name.

The second winner is comment number 35 and that would be Caren.

And I have decided eventhough I did not get at least 100 comments to do the third prize, I was going to give it away anyways. So the third winner is comment number 23 and it was left by Jailbird.

Congrats to all the winners, please email me your mailing address so I can get all the "JoAnna's Jems" out to you.

I also wanted to wish "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" to my Uncle Brian.

New Blog Banner!!

Happy Friday!!!!! Lookie at what I did..... I made a new name banner for the blog. I was so proud. It has to be fixed a little later after school, don't have time to mess with it to much.

Tonight is the night to pick the winners for the blog candy. You still have until midnight tonight to enter, so be sure to tell everyone. I will have the winners names up tomorrow morning. Click here to get to the post.

Okay, so back to the new banner, I saw on Emily's blog how she covered these 1 1/2" cubes and I LOVED them, so I had to make a set. I think I am going to make some for my teachers as Christmas gifts.

Lorie, I tried your suggestion to take the photos outside and it worked!!! Thanks so much for your help.

Have a great day, and I will be back after school with another project.

A sweet little gift set....

.......full of lots of good stuff. I used DCWV designer paper to cover everything. In this set I made a coaster box, a coaster notebook, beaded pen, jumbo paperclip, a medium and jumbo binderclip (so easy and very cute!!), and a magnet. The best part is when you wrap it all up, everything fits in the coaster box for easy packaging!!!!

I found the magnet in the dollar spot at Target and it had Bratz on them, but I covered with designer paper. The flowers on the coaster box and magnet were cut out using the Cuttlebug. The saying inside the magnet says: simply said from the heart, Thank you. It is from the Simply Said stamp set from Stampin Up.

Blog Candy is still going on, there are already 42 comments and WONDERFUL names to go along with it.

Quilts, Quilts & More Quilts

Hello to everyone!!! Today I decided to make this post a little quick today. I will be gone for a part of the day. I am in leadership at school and we do Community Service and today I get to do recycling at our cities "Spice of Life". Not really sure what it all means, but I get to locate the recyclable items that people throw away.

I wanted to show you a couple of quilts that I made. I made these the end of last year, but I wanted to show you a crafty post while I was away today. The first one was my very first BIG quilt. It ended up to be a little bigger than my twin size bed, so it is very comfy. The pattern in a Log Cain, but I think it looks more like hearts after it was put together. I never really quilted a big quilt, so my mom thought I should tie it together. I really like how it turned out and I had alot of fun with it.

The second one, is one that I made for my grandpa for his birthday. He loves ships and when I found this one in the quilt book, I know I had to try this one. It also is a Log Cabin, but after the blocks are arranged, it looks like a ship. This is where I decided to try and machine quilt it. Boy was that interesting. As long as you look at the front you can not tell where I messed up, LOL!!!! My grandpa really liked it.
I hope everyone has a good day and I will be back later today with a card.

Blog Candy is still going on, click here to enter.... "BLOG CANDY". All the ideas that you have left are great. This is going to be hard, I wonder if I can have more then one name for this, hehehehehe. Keep the comments coming, the more there are the more stuff I will be giving away!!

Binder Clip Project

Happy Friday everyone!!!!!!

I wanted to show you a project that I did with the binder clips. I really like these and they are so simple to make. For this set I cu the designer paper 2" X 1 1/4" for the medium clip and 3 1/4" X 2" for the jumbo clip. I put the same designer paper on coasters and cut out the flowers using the Cuttlebug and used Crystal Effects to stick it to the top of the clip. These are the clips that are in the Blog Candy giveaway!!!

Real quick, I am getting soooo close to the 1000 hits and I wanted to make sure I have something VERY special for that mark. As soon as the current Blog Candy is over then I will have the next one start up to celebrate!!!!!!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR MAKING THIS SUCH A SUCCESS SO FAST!!!!!!!!
Don't forget to on this link to enter for the "Blog Candy"

Hopefully sometime tomorrow I will have pictures of all the "Blog Candy". I need to get another one together (since I just added the 3rd), LOL!!!!!!

Please make sure you leave your name with your comment, so that I will have a name for the winner.

"Blog Candy for a Cause"

I ran across a new Blog today and found that she was doing Blog Candy for a Cause. I wanted to pass it along to whoever would like to join in to help send wishes to a family in need. You can read everything here: Blog-Candy-For-A-Cause

Things like this are very near to my heart. I was real sick when I was first born and see the pictures and hear stories of what my mom had to go thru in that time and was graetful for the support of family and friends.

Make sure you pass this along.

Pokemon Frame

Happy Wednesday!!!!

For today's post I made a frame with Pokemon cards. I got a frame from Michaels for a dollar. I had some Pokemon cards that I did not know what to do with so I decided to use ModgePodge and stick them in a random order to the frame. After the ModgePodge dried I trimmed all the edges and then used a sanding block to clean up the edges. I added glossy ModgePodge over the entire frame. It actually came out better than I thought it would. Instead of putting a picture on the inside, I added the left over cards in it. I think it would make the perfect gift for someone who loves Pokemon.

I still have that surprise for later today.........

Coaster Book

Hello everyone!!!! I hope everyone is having a good week. I wanted to show you a little book I made with coasters. My mom has so many of these things so I am trying out little projects to use them. I wanted a little book to put photos in of different activities that I am doing at school. I used pattern paper and covered both sides of the coasters, they are 4 inch squares. I cut my cardstock 3 1/2" square for the inside. I used "O" rings to hold the book together but then it gives me the option to add more pages if I need to. I used the Crop A Dile to punch the holes and put the jumbo eyelets on the coasters so that it was more stable. I hope you like it!!!
Make sure you come back tomorrow. I have a BIG surprise for everyone!!!!!!
