Oh my gosh!!!! It just found out that I was on Nicole's Blog for Honorable Mention :)

I had soooo many things I have be working on for the blog and posts. I have been away for an very unexpected trip to Oklahoma for my mom's aunts funeral. We pretty much picked up and left quick. It was a 18 hour drive and we did it straight thru barely stopping. We have had no interent service until we went to McDonalds for breakfast this morning. As soon as we return, the will be many new annocements that new things happening on my blog. Stayed tuned........

I have missed all of you very much. I hope everyone is doing very well :)

I had last night during PaperTrey's "Blog Hop". There were so many projects and wonderful inspiration :) I can not wait until the next one!!!

Today I wanted to show you the birthday card for my great-grandmother birthday. I am not sure if you can tell, it is a transparency card. I adhered the white cardstock to the back piece of the transparency. I got this idea from Nicole when she made a card like this during "Women of Life" countdown. I just changed a couple of this and used the present instead of the flowers.

This is gonna be short right now. I have been staring at the computer screen for a long time since "Blog Hop" started. I need to relax my eyes, hehehe.

Oh, I almost forgot, I got my REALLY cool glasses today!!!! I am happy. They are "red" Converse glasses, hehehe and I even have a matching case. I will have to get a picture of them. I was so glad my mom let me get them. I even have the transitional lens and anti-scratch something over the lens :) I really like them, just a little to get used to. The eye doctor says that my long distance is bad, so I them to read the blackboard in front of the class and computer work, he also said I have a slight astigmatism (not really sure what that is, but I am positive it is gonna be a word that I am gonna HAVE to look up :)

PaperTrey April "Blog Hop"

I saw this last month, but did not get a chance to participate. So this month, I made sure I signed up early :) You can read the rules for this months "Blog Hop" here. Nichole made a special paper file with the different pattern paper from this months release :) After looking at it, I could NOT cute it into pieces, it looked so cool just the way it was :)

I wanted to combine 2 things (sewing & stamping) that I enjoy doing on this card to my Grandpa for Father's Day. I felt it was more me into this card by doing that :)

This card measures 3.25" x 6.5". First I layered the special pattern paper on the new Summer Sunrise and then I finally tried sewing on a card. But unfortunately the sewing machine did not want to work well for me, so I just used it to pierce holes and then I connected to dots with a brown pin. I think it came out just fine, I actually think I like it better than with the thread anyways, lol!!!

I got to use my "special" made "Grandpa" (you can read this post, & this post on how I did this, it was my WhoooHooo moment, hehehe). I used the tree from "Father Knows Best", somehow the ink on the tree trunk came out looking grainy, which I guess is a good thing, since it looks more like a tree trunk, but I have not idea how I did it, LOL!!! For a little dimension, I added a few more circles with dimensionals, but they are stamped on Nichole Special Paper.

I did not want to leave the inside blank, so I stamped the sentiment "Happy Fathers Day" and put that on the inside.

I really enjoyed this challenge, THANKS NICOLE!!!!!

So, my Father's Day cards are complete. Yipppeeee!!!!!

Quick & Easy Notebooks

My mom and I went to the Dollar Tree last weekend and I got to stock up on some cool things to alter :) I got sooo much stuff and I only spend $20 (or maybe I should say my mom spend $20, LOL!!)

I found these cute composition books, 4 for $1. You can't beat that!!!

Here is what they looked like before:

And here is the after. I left the white square blank for now until I know who they are going to , so I can put their name on it. These little books would be perfect for your purse to write notes in them while you are on the go :)

Groovy Card Set

I hope everyone is having a good week :)

For today's card, I used Groovy Brideabella, Stampin Up's Paper Pack(hostess, I think) and PaperTrey's White cardstock & Berry Sorbet ribbon & ink for the sentiment.

I actually used a new technique that I have not tried before, paper piecing :) I paper pieced her purse and pants. I color her top with Copics. I tried putting color for her hair on a few other images that I stamped, but they were not turning out right, so I scratched those and just added Stickles to her veil and ring.

I made 10 of these cards, to give as a set, but I just do not know anyone that is getting married :(

HELLO!!!!!!! You will never guess what I did!!!!

Can you tell I am soooo almost beyond can not talk (or type), LOL!!!! My mom ordered all the new stuff from PaperTrey and it came today. After school I was going thru it all and wanted to start on my Father Day's cards.

Now comes I bit of a story, hehehe. I have only really have my mom since my dad past away almost 6 years ago, so I have not really made Father Days cards. I guess that is why when I see all the Mother/Daughter stuff I go for that stuff since it just fits me better. Then I started realizing that I have 2 other guys in my life and they REALLY help me in every way. These two guys are my Step-dad and my Grandfather. So this year I am making them each a very special card for Father's Day to show them both how much they mean to me. Tomorrow, I will show you may grandfathers card :)

But today, you get to see what I came up with. I liked the sentiments from the new "Father Knows Best", but it did not have the right sentiment for me, to show father & daughter. I asked my mom what can I do? And do you know her reply?

"Mom, do we have a stamp that says "Father" that matches this "Daughter" stamp from "Women in Life"? "

"No, JoAnna, but I am sure we have SOMETHING you can use. Do you see our craft room, you have EVERYTHING you could want in this room" :)

Lol, do you see where this is going, she ALWAYS makes me look up words that I do not understand and will make me sit there until something clicks in my head for tests. I know she is doing it to help me, but come on, sometimes I want some of the answers without having to sit there FOREVER until I figure it out :) I guess that is the kid in me, right?

Ok....enough typing JoAnna and get on with it, hehehehehe........ And here is the card my Step-Dad is getting for Father's Day!!!!!

Can you read it? I hope you all can. It says"it is not flesh & blood, but the heart that makes us.... FATHER & DAUGHTER"

Whoooooo Hoooooooo, I did it!!!!!!

And now you ask how I did it, right? Well I get to tell you. I found a "F" for Friend and just inked the "f" and then stamped it, next I used grandma and just inked the"a" and then I took mother and inked just the "ther". Whooooo Hoooooo!!!!!!! There you have I made my own "Father" that matched the "Daughter" in the set :)

My mom said she was proud of me.... I think she cried, she liked it so much and even better I figured out how the two sets fit my life :) The only down side it took me 2 hours to figure it out, LOL!!!!!! I guess the 2 hours was time well spent!!!!

Ok, see you all later, I am VERY tired and need to get some sleep for school tomorrow, wait, this post is not going up until tomorrow morning, LOL!!!! I will be back after school today :)

I used the "grandma" & "friend" stamp from "Women In Life" The "p" is a upside down "d" on the friend stamp and then the "a" & "grand" is from the "grandma" stamp!!!!

Two posts in one day!!!!!!

I have something else I wanted to show you :) When I saw the new designer paper, I thought some of the patterns looks like guys dress shirts :) I was not the only one, Debbie Olson said the same thing. I wanted to try and make a tie. That was not easy, these things are SMALL!!!! I knew that a shirt and tie is not complete until it has a knot at the top. Tricky I tell ya :) But the easiest way I found was I took a small left over piece (1/4") and top both ends to the center so they meet. That gives you a fold on the top and bottom to make it more finished looking. I then just stuck it under the collar. The collar was not glued downed so you can slip the paper under it so it stays :)

This first picture is the one I made first, but after looking at the pictures, I noticed you can not see the difference in the "tie" & "knot", so the second picture I used a different color scrap piece and did the same thing, just to show you how it looks :)

A quick & easy card set :)

I wanted to start making some card sets that I can package up and give them as gifts :) I haven't used this Bella yet, so I thought I start with her. I am really trying to use the ones that have not been used yet!

This first picture is all my supplies are cut out ready to be put together. The Bella was colored using Copics. The stamp set is PaperTrey's Anniversary set. The picture shows the slit punch from Stampin Up, but once I got them assembled it would not fit where I wanted the hole to be, so I used the Crop A Dile Big Bite instead.

And here is the finished card. The designer paper used bought from Joann's and I cute them 2 1/2" x 5 1/2". The hole is punched thru the front of the card, so when you open it, you will see some of the ribbon also (just a little added touch to the inside). The charm was purchased from Stamping Bella, to match the Bella image.

Here is a picture of the whole set of 10. It really did not take that long to put these together. Everything was cut and ready to go. I think I am loving this mass producing concept :)

I want to you all to meet our puppies!!!!! They are 14 weeks now and they are growing fast and getting their own personalities :) They are so much fun.

This is "Dottie". She is sooooo cute!!!! She is such a love bug. She loves to be held and cuddled with. Dottie looks just like "Buddy" (their dad).

And this is "Minnie". She is alot smaller than her sister, but can hold her own :) She loves to hop around like a bunny rabbit, tooo cute!!! Minnie looks like "Bonny" (their mom).

They (of course) is getting spoiled rotten, LOL!!!!!

Ok, I am off to finish responding to my emails. I just had to show you these cute picture my mom got of them :) See you all tomorrow!!!

LOL!!!!! I have no idea where my week went :) It flew by and all I remember doing was State Testing at school and the eye doctor (not fun).

I have so much to tell you.....first off, I have lots of emails from you all and I am trying to get thru them by the end of this weekend. Everyone is so good to me :) And, I want to say I am Sorry and please don't get mad at me for this. The winners from the giveaways were boxed up and ready to be mailed, but I forgot to give them to my mom to mail them :( She saw them in my room this week and was shocked!! All she has been doing is work, work and more work. Debbi (her boss) found out the her cancer is back and she is going thru the giving up point. My mom is trying to help and making sure her spirits are up. She is at the hospital again and it is a few hours away, so it is hard to go see her. I did get a card mailed to her so I hope it will put a smile on her face real soon :) Opps...I started rambling, hehehe... the winners... all your goodies were mailed and be on the look out :)

I had a bit of time to play late last night and I wanted to try Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I wanted to try and make my own pattern paper, so I used PaperTrey's Anniversary set, that we rec'd in the mail this week. The small butterfly is from Ali's Wedding set over at PaperTrey. The turquoise cardstock is from Stampin Up, and the Berry Sorbet & White is from PaperTrey. The ribbon is also Berry Sorbet grosgrain ribbon.

So, since I made the pattern paper, I cut it up in different sizes. I still have pieces that I will be putting them into cards also. Here is the second card I made. All the supplies are the same as the first just a different arrangement. The ribbon for this card is a white sheer polka dot.

I will be back tomorrow, with more altered stuff and some more sketch challenges that I have been wanting to try :)

What a weekend......

we had :) It started on Friday my mom, aunt, and 2 cousins picked me up after school so we run errands. The next day (Saturday) was my Great-Grandma's 90th birthday party. All I can say is that is was CRAZY!!!!!! There were so many people from the family that was there. 8 of my great-grandma's kids were there, with there kids and there kids and there kids. Do you see a pattern, LOL!!!!!! I will have to have my mom email a picture that we got with a group shot :) It was alot of fun tho. Most of the people that were there I have never met or it has been 8+ years since we have seen them. So it was fun just to play with the other kids that were there. My Great-Grandma had a great time, I could tell she was just enjoying her family :) Then on Sunday, my mom, aunt, & 2 cousins and me went to Joann's and Target to shop, then after my aunt and cousins had to leave to go home, my mom & I did crafts together. It was nice to sit there and talk and play with new toys :)

Ok, so that was my weekend. How was yours? Hopefully you got some time to craft :)

I was able to read thru Nicol's blog yesterday and found the different sketches she did with 5 different cards. I so had to try it. We have SOOOOO many scrap pieces if DP, so I thought it was the perfect way to use some of them up. This card I used different pinks and greens. I rubbed Berry Sorbet ink on the edges to add a little color. The ribbon I got at Michael's and I used Stampin Up word window punch. The sentiment is from PaperTrey's Anniversary Set that if you bought 12+ different stamp sets then they set this set to you. I also used the images on a different card that I will be sharing with you tomorrow. They are so pretty :) Can you tell, I am in LOVE with PaperTrey, hehehehe.

Cute Little Project

Oooooooo.......RUN to Micheal's :) LOL!!!! We have so many of these little canvas pictures that my mom found at Michael's for $1. She got them for my cousin's to paint while at our house. After I saw what Amy Westerman did with hers, I KNEW I had to try one out. I will definitely be doing alot more of these cute little pictures.

I also have been altering lots of stuff for you :) See, I do listen to you all, hehehehehe.

I took a picture of the front and back before I touched it, so you can see what they looked like. I used Modpodge to adhere the designer paper to it and then put some over the paper before I really started decorating it.

I used PaperTrey's new designer paper, my mom LOVES the new colors, so I have been trying to use it for projects for her to hang in the craft room area. I punched the flowers using Stampin Up's flower punches. I also distressed all the edges using Berry Sorbet from PaperTrey Ink. For some added sparkle, I used colored crystals that I attached using Crystal Effects. I almost forgot, this canvas is 5"x5" and the white square is 3.5"x3.5". Now my mom can add a picture and hang it up :)

I received my report card in the mail yesterday!!!! I was sooo excited to see it. I have been working extra hard this quarter to bring up all my grades, and I DID!!!

Beate's Be Inspired Challenge #7

Oh, my gosh.... I LOVED the picture Beate used to be inspired by here.

I had some metal sheets that I used copper embossing powder on. I stamped PaperTrey Ink's butterfly on the back side and then cut them out. I used Stampin Up's Chocolate Chip & Taken with Teal cardstock. The ribbon was from Michael's and then I added Prima flowers.

I hope you enjoy this card. It was WAY different to use metal on a card, but I really liked how it turned out.

Inspiration Email

I wanted to show you an email I got, I really have no words at the moment, I am so stunned and grateful and crying all at once. The person & her daughters that wrote this to me, made my day and I will NEVER forget this :)

(I took out the names, cause I am not sure if I can, I will change it if she allows me to)

Here is the email:

Dear Joanna,
I just wanted you to know what an inspiration you are to my daughters (I have three daughters "1" who is 8 ½, "2" who is 6 ½ and "3" who will be 4 in May.) "3" is always saying “pretty” to the screen when I show her some of your cards or projects. "1" and "2" love to come home from school and see if you have created anything new. "2" is not much of a crafter (she prefers to read or play with her dolls), however she likes to come and look at your blog and see what “beautiful things” you have created. "1" LOVES your blog and you have definitely inspired her. She loves to craft and I think by knowing that you are a kid too (much older though), she just thinks you are the tops. She has read about what a good student you are and how you enjoy school. She has been struggling a little bit in school and for some reason, knowing how much you try in school, has inspired her as well. So I owe you a big thanks! I guess my point is although your talent for making beautiful cards and other fun goodies is quite stunning, your other “stories” on your blog (about school, your family, and just how you spent the week) also has had such a wonderfully profound effect on my daughters. As I am sure you are learning, the power of Internet is strong, but the power of words are even stronger.

Oh So Pretty Bella

HAPPY APRIL 1ST!!!!!!!!

Hello, I have been wanting to play around with some new Bellas that we have had for a little while and have not been used yet :)

For the layout I used Amy's sketch challenge. The ribbon is May Arts Ribbon and the cardstock is from Stampin Up (Pink Passion, I think) and PaperTrey's white cardstock. The DP is a paperpack from DCWV, it has sparklies on it, so pretty in person. Guess what I got to use to color her in with?

Yep...... COPICS!!!!!!! My mom got a set of these finally and I got to use them. Oh my gosh, is all I can say :) They color soooo smoothly and the colors are great!!!!

I hope everyone had fun with me last week celebrating my birthday!! I had such a great time. I started working on some tutorials and altered items for you all. I am not sure how the video works, but I will talk to my mom and see if she can figure it out so that I can learn.

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge # 41

Whooo Hoooo!!!!! I had time today to stamp!!!! I have been crafting up a storm today. Today I wanted to show you a card that I made for Beate's Challenge. I have had these square cards from DCWV that the fronts are embossed. They all are all so pretty, to the point that you do not want to add to much to them so you do not hide the embossed images. The card had flowers embossed. I used PaperTrey's Berry Sorbet & Aqua Mist cardstock. I used my trusty Scor-Pal and made lines on the cardstock to match the card front itself. The ribbon is from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts.

Acrylic Album Tutorial

Whoooo Hoooooo!!!!! I finally got this tutorial uploaded :) Thank you to everyone who has been soooooo patient with me. This is gonna be a long post. A VERY nice fellow blogger Melanie Menchinger taught me how to upload more than 5 pictures in one post!!!! Now you will all the info in one place, how cool is that??

Ok, so here goes....if you have ANY questions, leave me a comment or email me and I will answer them on this post. (you may not be the only one wondering, LOL!!!!)

I get all my materials for an acrylic albums from Kits2Remember. Jessica is wonderful and she ships fast. My mom & I are taking a class taught by her next month. It is gonna be fun. This is the company that I was trying out for the design team, but did not make it. It is ok tho, I am gonna keep trying :) This album is the 4x4 Friend's Acrylic Album Kit. It comes with the cover & back acrylic, paper, ribbon and embellishments. You need to have the Bind it All & wire. If you don't have a Bind it All, you can use the Crop A Dile to punch holes in the acrylic. (It works)

Ok, enough of my rambling on......I knew that I wanted the wire to be centered on the acrylic (it comes with this blue plastic over it to protect it), so I used my quilting ruler and found the center and marked a line with an ink pen, but do not push too hard, you will leave an impression on the acrylic.

Now you need to line it up in the Bind it All with the center line on your Bind It All.

Here are the cover and back after they are punched with the Bind It All.

Now is the fun part. You take off the blue plastic and decorate as you wish!!! The inner pages on this album is designer paper cut to 4x4, just like the acrylic pieces and punched with the Bind It All the same way (do not mark on the paper, I relined the acrylic pieces in the Bind It All with a couple of the pages at a time and punched). You can have all your pages acrylic if you want to, it is up to you.

After you have all your pages decorated, it is time to bind them all together. Stack up all the pages in the order that you want. Like in this picture, this is my cover with all the pages stacked under it.

Ok, I hope I can explain the next part ok, please let me know if it is too confusing. You take the back cover and flip it so it is on top of the front cover. It will be like you are reading the VERY last page of a book. This picture shows my back cover on top of my front cover. This part will make sense at the end of this tutorial.

Now you will insert the wire. I always lay the book over the edge of the table so that you can put the wire in with one motion. The you bind it with the Bind It All.

I am sooo liken the new PaperTrey colors :) So pretty.

I got my Thank You cards done for my birthday!!! I actually got them done early :)

The card base is PaperTrey white cardstock. I layered the pattern paper on top but I used my scallop scissors on the bottom for a little extra. The ribbon is wrapped around the middle and cut a "v" with extra ribbon hanging off the edge. (I hope that makes sense) I layered the scalloped circles and the stamp is from "Kitchen Sink" stamps. The flower is cute and it says "Thank You" in a semi circle. And you know me, the card needed bling, so I added stickles in each scallop and the flowers center.

This card is so easy to mass produce. I think I may have to try it in different colors and make some for a stash :)

I hope you also enjoyed today's card.

Easter Egg Box & a Card

Isn't this box the cutiest? I found the template on Spiltcoast by Qbee. I made these for everyone that came to our house on Easter. My mom, aunt and grandma helped me to finish them up. I made 18 of them :)

This card I also got from my uncle, aunt and cousins that live in Wisconsin. I had a wonderful birthday. My mom and step-dad took me out to dinner at Chili's and them my mom some how told the waitress that it was my birthday and my step-dads in a couple days so they sang to us and we got a chocolate milkshake :) We were soooo stuffed when we left!!

Today is gonna be soooo much fun!!!! I am off of school this week for spring break too :) I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL Easter!!! we had Easter at our house and we did my birthday & my step-dad's birthday(his is the 27th).

I first wanted to show you the great cards I have gotten. THANK YOU SOOOOO much Patty & Chole :) The card was a wonderful surprise to get in the mail and I LOVE it :) The others were from my family that were at our house today. My Mom & Step-Dad, Grandma & Grandpa, Uncle Jason, Aunt Lissy, Cody & Wyatt, Great-Grandma.

A Card with a Blessing

I am not liking this picture at all :( I made this card for a lady that her little baby is going thru alot of medical problems and I wanted to send her a card to let her know that I was thinking of her and her son and hope he gets well very soon. Shapes by Design Card

I really have been enjoying the new PaperTrey Ink stamp sets and new ones are just around the corner, hehehe. For this card I used the set called 'Shapes By Design" created by Ali Miles. I like all the shapes it has in the set. The card base is 4" square and I used my scallop circles to make the card. The colors are the new PaperTrey Spring Moss and Aqua Mist.

I have posts scheduled for the next few days for all of you. I am going to be gone for a Gate Trip. I will share all about it and photos as soon as I return. I even get to visit a college campus and whale watching, soooo fun :)

Next week, I will be sharing with you the details for my birthday celebration giveaways!!! So stay tuned in for that :)

Seceret Sister Week 6

Votive Candle Holder

I hope everyone's week is going good :) I have lots of work for school and trying to complete make up work for when I am going to be gone for three days for a Gate Trip.

I started to make these candle holders as little gifts for my birthday party, but then started to think and realized that my cousins are boys and what are they going to do with candle holders. So I am re-thinking this idea. I still like them alot :)

I used the new rub-ons from Stampin Up and the votive candle holder is from Wal-Mart.

Friend Acrylic Album

Here is another project I submitted to the Design Team Call. It is a friend album. I used Groovy Guava and Certainly Celery. On the front, I used on of Stampin Up's rub-ons (definition of friend) and one of the rub-ons I received from my Secret Sister. It turned out so bright and cheerful :)

Let me know what you think. I may add more ribbon to the binding. In the picture, it just seems there is not enough ribbon :)

Mother & Daughter Acrylic Frame

HAPPY TUESDAY!!!!!!

I am sooo excited about these next few projects that I will be sharing with you all over the next few days. I got permission to share a few projects with all of you that I created for a Design Team Call. I hope I get picked :) It would be so awesome and I am having fun playing with acrylic.

I made this frame for a picture of my mom & I. The bottom tiny acrylic I used the "Women of Life" stamp set and stamped "Mother & Daughter", the other one is a saying from the Out on a Limb set,"To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you may be the world". The big flowers came from the Big Embellishment Kit from QVC. All DP is from Stampin Up, ribbon, I am not sure. I played with the Bind It All to add the small acrylics to the larger square. It adds some movement to the project that I really like. I punched 3 holes in the side with the Crop A Dile II Big Bite ans tied ribbon thru them. I added small rhinestone flowers for some added sparkle.

Nicole's Inspiration Challenge

This card I made for Nicole's Inspiration challenge. You had to use squares and the Everyday Blessing designer paper. I also used Everyday Blessings stamp set along with Aqua Mist & White cardstock and satin ribbon.

I found a card contest on Enfys blog. You have to use Black/White and one other color. I have been lovin the Groovy Guava color lately. I think because I am sooooo ready for Spring and it has been showing in all my projects :)

The Polka Dot background is from PaperTrey new set Polka Dot Basics, the butterfly is from Stampin Up Sell-A-Bration set Merci. The ribbon, I think is May Arts ribbon. It matches so well with the Groovy Guava.

I used Groovy Guava, Wild Wasbi, & Soft Sky. I am not sure of the stamp set, it was in a box with stuff my mom ordered. I really like it tho, so I am going to have to find out what it is. If you know, please let me know. I would love to get this set.

Hello, I hope everyone is having a good weekend :) I have been working on lots of items and we actually went out for a few yesterday, to a BIG Michaels & Joann's. So much fun and lots of goodies I got to play with :)

Stampin Up Simply Said Kits

Have any of you done on of the "Simply Said" kits from Stampin Up? The box it comes in you can alter afterwards, too cool and it is filled with everything you need to make 10 cards (5 of each). I could not believe it came with the Stampin Up markers, ink spots, stamps envelopes and all the cardstock is cut and ready to go. How easy is that?

I have been wanting to make a few cards for those "just in case" cards. The ones you need in a jiffy and do not have time to make one :) These went into my card tin ready to be used.

What are you up to this weekend? I will be crafting all weekend again. Sounds like fun to me, hehehe.

Pay it Forward

Cutie Pie meets Purse Box

If you have not been to Danielle's blog then you need to check it out. I saw these cute wood purse box that she did a few days ago and realized that my mom has SOOOOOO many alterables stashed away that I am sure it screaming to be altered :)

For my purse box, I used the Cutie Pie designer paper from Stampin Up. The ribbon was dyed with Wild Wasbi ink refill. I used Scalloped Square Nestabilities for the sentiment. The flower stamp and sentiment id PaperTrey Ink. The flower embellishments are from the Big Flower Embellishment Kit from QVC. If you look at the flowers closely you can tell that the center flower matches the Cutie Pie paper....and that is because it is made from the paper. I did not have a flower that would fit in between the two sizes I wanted so my mom thought to use the Stampin Up small oval punch and punched eight of them. We used the Big Bite to punch a hole in all 8 pieces at once so that they lined up. Then you layer everything with the brad. After you tighten the brad you then can move the ovals to the places you want. I hope that made sence, hehehe. If you want I can put a quick tutorial on how to do it if that will help. Just let me know.

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge

Hello... I have been wanting to try Beate's weekend sketch challenges for awahil now, but never did it. This weekend I told myself I was going to do it :)

I use Purely Pomergrante(Stampin Up) and Spring Moss(PaperTrey). I used the cuttlebug embossing folder and attached 3 silver brads in the upper corner. The square image was stamped with Borders & Corners(PaperTrey). The stitched grossgrain ribbon is wrapped around the whole card. It was very simple, but looks so nice!!!

I know I told you that I had something to share with you today, but I need to put the finishing touches(these HAVE to be perfect) on them and I will get them up tomorrow :)

There is still a few more days left to be entered in "JoAnna's Jems" if you have not done so already.

More fun....Scallop Cards with a Twist

I am having wayyyyy to much fun with the Nestabilites :)

I decided to try and put one of the scallop cards on a card base so now it it the same size as a regular card. I used the new PaperTrey Ink stamp set "Women of Life" and "Spiral Bouquet". I also added a little bling with a flower.

More tomorrow.... this craft thingy is so much fun and I feel so productive :) And I have something really cool to share with you that I have been up to :)

A change in look....

You guys noticed the change in my blog, lol!!!! I am thinking I like the springy look :) My mom made me the new banner yesterday so I had to make sure it was up and then change some colors to match. Maddie's Birthday

My friend's birthday was yesterday, I wanted to make her a little something special. I made this little bag called Treat-A-Lope for her. Isn't it cute!!!!. I hope that she likes it. I also covered a lip balm so that it slides out and tied ribbon around it, like a tiny present :)

I had soooo much fun playing with the new PaperTrey Ink goodies. We got the BIG box in on Friday and they were all ready to be played with this past weekend. Everything is so wonderful. I can not wait to get to use them some more this week.

A Card For My Secret Sis

Hello, I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I have been able to relax and craft. I am having a blast. The card I have for you today is a card that I made for my Secret Sister. I really liked how it turned out. I used PaperTrey Ink stamps and stickles to add some bling.

Oh my.....I am so liken' these Nestabilities right now. I was checking out blogs after school today and found on Michelle's blog, how she figured out a way to create cute little scallop cards. And I knew we had these and I am sure they have been sitting in their CD case waiting to be used, LOL!!!! After seeing them I knew I had to try this and see how they would come out. They came out better than I was expecting.

The pink one I used the second to biggest Scalloped Circle. I really like how it added a bit of embossing to the edges. I used PaperTrey Ink stamp sets with a bit of stickles on the white scallop circle. I used that I got from Hedgehog Ink.

After the first one, I just could not stop, so I tried a Scalloped Square card. This time I used the biggest Nestability there is. The cardstock and stamp set is from PaperTrey Ink, and I added some stickles to the insude of the flower and dotted the "j". The ribbon is also from Hedgehog Ink. I tried the masking technique with the flower. I liked how it turned out but I not too crazy about the stickles insude the flower. I may have to make another one without the stickles and see if I like it better.

ETA: these cuties are approx. 4"

I know I promised "JoAnna's Jems" to be posted today, but I started palying with these cute cards that I forgot to take a picture of the prize. After school today, I will get it up first thing :)

Gift Set fit for a Teacher

Hello...some of the projects I have been working on was a gift set for my teacher that was leaving to go to a different school. I made a coaster box pen holder, and magnet calender, and a notebook. I also made a tag for the bag to match the designer paper that I used. I think this set was the hardest for me. I am used to making things real girly and using all kinds of colors, but for my teacher that would not work since he is a guy. The colors were green, cream and brown and the D.P was from a pack of retired designer paper by Stampin Up. I think it turned out nice.

Little Lady Sketch Card

I hope everyone is having a good week so far. I wanted to show you some of the projects I have been working on.

This card is for Jen delMuro's Sketch Challenge. I love PaperTrey's Little Lady stamp set. The ladybug is so cute and you can do many different things with her to make all different kinds of effects.

For this card I used Stampin Up's YoYo Yellow and Green Galore. On Little Lady's wings I added Crystal Effects to add a ittle something. The flowers and center of the flower is from and embellishment kit that was purchased from QVC made by Lisa Bearnson. I think that the colors matched perfectly to the Stampin Up's colors. I also added some stickles going down the right side of the card.

Don't forget, I am almost to 50,000 and I am getting "JoAnna's Jems" together for the big visit mark :)

Our baby Puppies Update

I wanted to give an update on our new babies in the house. The puppies are growing sooooo fast. There eyes are already opened and they are trying ot walk around that it is funny to watch. They are 5 weeks today, boy has time gone by fast with them. They are still really small for their age and will not be starting solid food for a bit longer. We lost 2 of the puppies and my moms baby Bonny(puppies mother), it was VERY sad and very hard to deal with. My mom had them buried all next to eachother so that she put flowers with them. I think she is going to make little stepping stones with their names to put above them. My mom said we are going to keep the two we have left. I do not think she can let them go after everything she has been thru with them. I will have to try and get a better picture of them standing on thier legs, cause they look way to small to be doing that.

I will be back later today with some projects I am finishing up. My World History teacher is going to a different school and we are having a surprise party for him tomorrow.

A picture frame gift

Hello everyone!!! I hope all of you had a wonderful Valentine's Day. Last weekend I recieved an email about the Pokemon picture frame I had done in one of my firsts posts of the blog. I was asked if I could make a frame for her son to give as a Valentine's gift to his friend at school. I was sooo happy to do this as it is always fun and rewarding to make something that the person would love. I knew it was for a girl so I got to add ribbon :) I used purple and yellow since that was the main colors of the Pokemon cards that I used.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's day. I actually stayed up late to finish everything I needed to get done. I found these giant Crunch bars and a pull treat pouch to go around them. I had to figure alot out since I did not have any sizes to go off of. So it was a trial and error, LOL!!! I made 8 of them for each of my teachers.

My mom saw these cute little candy airplanes onine and thought that it would be so cute for my cousin to make as Valentines. He will be starting school this year so they decided to make them for his Sunday School classmates. Cody had such a blast making them. He was stamping away and eating the candy as they were putting them together :)

Card Purse Tutorial Part 1 of 2

HAPPY MONDAY !!!!!!!!

Wow, guess what, I have another tutorial for you all!!!!! I am getting good at this, LOL!!! These tutorials are so fun to put together and I hope they are helping all of you with your creativeness.

I found these cute little card purses on Aprils blog, and then I was off finding the directions to make some. These are so easy and I know all of you will have a blast making them.

Step One: Cut two pieces of cardstock (DP used in this tutorial) to 8 1/2"x 5" and one piece of cardstock or DP to 3" x 7".

Step Two: Scor the smaller piece at 1/2" all around all four edges.

Step Three: Cut the corners off, you can click on the picture to make it bigger to see exactly where to cut.

Step Four: Scor the two bigger pieces at 6", 7" & 8"

Step Five: Use your bone folder to make sure the creases are good. The bigger pieces are folded accordion fold and the smaller pieces the edges are folded up.

Card Purse Tutorial Part 2 of 2

Step Five: use sticky tape and put together the two bigger pieces as shown

Step Six: Now is the start to attach the bottom to the sides. I found it easier to leave the sides flat until the very end, it helps so much while attaching the bottom. I started on the long side as shown in the picture.

Step Seven: This photo shows how it looks after attaching the smaller side. Keep going all the way around until you have to attach to close the purse.

Step Eight: Finish as desired. I use the Crop A Dile to punch my holes and attach the eyelets. The ribbon handles are 13" long and Itied a knot to keep it attached. For the label on the front I used the Giga Scalloped Punch to punch a white oval and then the stamp set is from PaperTrey's Sweet Love and the sentiment is from Papertrey set.

Box Tutorial

Hello and HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!! I have a tutorial for all of you. The other tutorial I wanted to you all first was not working in picture form, but I have this one for you instead :)

It is a very cute box that I found on Cambria's blog. I actually have a surprise for you at the end, you are gonna love it :)

Here goes........

Step One: Cut your cardstock (in this tutorial I used DP), to 8 1/4" X 8 1/4"

Step Two: Score on all four sides at 2 3/4", so you end up with 3 rows of 3 squares.

Step Three: On the four corner squares scor them diagonal, so it looks like two triangles.

Step Four: Use your bone folder and fold on all the scored lines.

Step Five: Also use your bone folder to make sure the four corner squares creased really well.

Step Six: use your adhesive and attach the triangles together. So you can see the inner box with wings at all four corners.

Step Seven: put adhesive on one side of the triangle and fold it in so that it sticks to on side of the box.

Step Eight: fold the other triangle over the triangle you just glued down. Repeat on other side.

The sides should end up like this

Step Nine: I used the Crop A Dile and punched a hole where the two triangle created a point so that I could add an eyelet to it.

Step Ten: to embellish the front I cut 3 squares, (2 1/2" square, 2 1/4" square, & 2" square). To add something extra I use the ticket punch on all three squares.

Step Eleven: I use my PaperTrey Beautiful Blooms stamp set. I am not sure if you can tell, but I used a new technique that I have never used before. Masking.....it is way too cool and lots of fun. You will see more on the next post. I also added stickles to the center of the flowers and at all four corners.

And now for the surprise.....

So after I did the tutorial, I decided I wanted different size boxes and decided to use my math and figure a few things out. I also used the masking technique and PaperTrey stamps.

Here are some measurements for you:

Small Box: cardstock cut to 8 1/4" square and the scored at 2 3/4" all around.

Medium Box: cardstock cut to 9" square and scored at 3" all around.

Large Box: cardstock cut to 10 1/2" square and scored at 3 1/2" all around.

Ok, so here is the scoop...... we have had no Internet and phones have been acting very weird for the past couple of days. Something about a down power line and outage. So the tutorial I promised, I was unable to get on long enough to upload and type everything. We just started to have some Internet back up but it is so slowwwwwww. It is driving me crazy, LOL!!!!! I am typing the tutorial in spurts until it is done or the Internet decides to come back on completely. I am hoping to have it up and posted by the end of tonight. But I did want to show you a card that has been uploaded and waiting to be posted.

Here is my card for the day. I made it for my Secret Sister that just had a birthday. It is a faux tearing technique. I am putting together a tutorial on it also.

I saw thess on a blog and thought that would make perfect Valentines for my friends at school. While I was trying to figure out how many I needed to make, my mom kept asking me what kind of list I was making, hehehe. What she didn't know was that I needed to make 50! They were so easy to make and fun. They have the Trident 5 piece gum inside. I am working on a tutorial for these and I will have it up this evening.

Seceret Sister week 2

Hello !!!! I hope everyone had a good weekend :) I had a wonderful weekend. My aunt and cousins stayed with us while my uncle and step dad was out hunting. We had a fun filled time with lots of crafts going on, hehehe.

I wanted to show you what my secret sister sent to me for week 2. The flowers are 3-d and I can not wait to use them on a card.

I also have a few tutorials that I am getting together. I am having the pictures transferred tomorrow and I will get them up. I hope you will like them.

I also wanted to give you an update on the puppies. Both puppies are getting stronger everyday and my mom is still bottle feeding them every 3 hours, and won't let them out of her sight for a long time, way too crazy for me, LOL!!!!! They are growing so that is a good sign. We are doing better after losing the 2 puppies last week and my mom seems to be very happy that the other 2 are doing alot better.

I am uploading projects and tutorials, but I wanted to make sure to get a post to you so you all know what is going on :)

Good morning all. I wanted to get on real quick to say that!!!

I am getting readt to leave for school, and realized I needed to print somethings so I got on here too :)

Thanks so much for wonderful comments from last night. Samara (my cousin) is going to be thrilled when she opens her box :) As far as the puppies, my mom is WAY to upset and tired. We lost another one last night and she was the biggest. She started to act wierd and again, a few hours later she passed away. I can not tell you how upset my mom is now. It is horrible. Now she is thinking of keeping the last two, whick we never do. This is the 4th time Bonny has had puppies and we never had to deal with what we are going thru right now.

Off to school and then relaxing, LOL!!!!!!!

A project and some sad news....

Hello all.... tomorrow is my last final and semester grades will be out. Boy, what a week. So many tests to study for and lots going on at home with the new puppies.

I wanted to show you a project that I made for my cousin that lives in Wisconsin. I always call her my princess and she loves dress up stuff :)

In the picture is a frame that I am going to put a picture of her and her new sister and then a mirror. I made sure it had lots of bling to it :)

And now some sad news...... I was wondering why my mom was already up when I woke up for school and why she looked so tired, but she said that she could not sleep. After school she told me that early this morning one of the puppies passed away. She is taking it sooo hard. As she will tell you, the puppies are her babies and if something ever happened to them she would be heart broken. Now my mom is doing everything herself now. She is bottle feeding the puppies and Bonny (mother) is now not with them. Bonny had a very hard time with this litter and we are not sure now if the puppies were getting enough food. So be sure, we are now bottle feeding them. The other three seem to be doing ok right now. They have had alot more energy since starting the bottle feeding, so that is a good sign. My mom and step dad buried our little girl, so now she is sleeping peacefully. I miss her already. if you saw the earlier post with the picture of the 4 of them, she is the spotted one in the left hand corner.

Puppies.......

ETA: ooopps, I forgot to tell you that the puppies are Miniature Dachshunds. I will have to try and get better pictures :)

Yippeeeee...... Lookie at what we have now :) Our dogs had puppies Monday.

I woke up Monday for school and my mom said that Bonny was going to have her puppies. She started labor at 12:30 in the morning and did not start having them until 7am. Man, that took a long time.

Now we have 4 baby girls. They are way to cute!!!! You just want to squeeze and cuddle with them.

I have received many emails for all of you about how my mid-terms are going. I have 2 more tomorrow and one on Friday. I have past all of them so far with a B or higher. I am soooo happy!!!!! Thank you for the emails and encouragement as I study so hard for these.

I have projects to show you tomorrow. I just wanted to post real quick and show you the new addition to our family.

Let me give you a bit of background of a story. My mom works as an insurance agent and her boss was diagnosed with a type of cancer in her bones a little over a year ago. She has been going thru alot and just recently had a stem cell transplant and has been unable to work, which leaves my mom running the division herself and me helping when I am off of school. She is doing much better since coming home from the hospital, but it is a slow process for her.

Necklace and Bracelet....finally......

I was finally able to get a somewhat ok picture of these. I have no idea what the issue was, but the polyshrink kept blurring big time :)

For the necklace, the strawberry and border are both PaperTrey Ink. I love the fact that they are clear so it was so easy to position where I wanted them.

The bracelet I beaded myself. I have wanted to try beading for awhile and I got lots of beads for Christmas, so I can not wait to make more :) I used the "J" in the monogram set and Borders & Corners from PaperTrey Ink.

So, I am off again to school and thenwork on crafts & tutorials to share with you all :)

Dollar Spot Magnets

I found this magnets in the dollar spot at Joann's. I wanted to show you a before and after picture so you can see how much it changed.

I painted the back and side with white acrylic paint. I glued the DP on with mod podge and sanded the edges. Does the saying look familiar? It is on the one that my Secret Sister sent to me :) Now I have it in my room, I love it!!! I also added two Primas with a crystal brad from Stampin Up.

"JoAnna's Jems" is still going on, make sure you enter as much as possible :)

New Year's Resolution and A Question

I have really thinking about my New Year's Resolution. I have decided that it needs to be that I work harder on my blog to give you, my readers everything possible that I can give and want to want so that you come back daily.

Secret Sister Week 1 has begun......

Oh my gosh...Look at what came in the mail yesterday!!!! It is officially week 1 of Secret Sister.

The card is so pretty, I really like the flowers on it. Then I got a sheet of vellum flower stickers, and a saying written by William Shakespeare "It is a wise father that knows his own child".

It was so much fun getting goodies in the mail :) I also mailed my little package to my secret sister, so we will see if she likes her goodies.

A Card for Max

While I was checking blogs I ran across April over at Lifes Simple Pleasures and she has been trying to get birthday cards for a little boy named Max. He will be turning 5 on January 11th. I wanted to make sure I got a card to him to help celebrate his wonderful day.

This is the card that I am sending to him. It is sooo sparkly in person. I used "Piece of Cake" stamp set from PaperTrey Ink. The card base, I tried something different. I used the Scor-Pal and make lines going down the side and bottom of the card, just to inhance the scors, I put Diamond Stickles in the grooves.

I hope he will like his card and bring him LOTS of wonderful memories on his special day.

I am back at school today, winter break is now officially over. I have a few more projects to show you after school. I have been having a very hard time getting a good picture of them.

Coaster Calender

Over at Lorie's blog, she had sign ups to have a secret sister for 6 weeks. It sounded like soo much fun!!!! I made this card for my secret sister. I hope she likes it.

The card is a 5x5 square, the center is the quilt technique. It looks so pretty. I am going to make more in different shades of the same color to see how that will work. The flower in the center has stickles smeared over it has a purple bauble in the center.

Family Fun Filled Day

Hello, I hope everyone had a wonderful New Years Day. I thought I was gonna be able to get up today and upload many pictures, but my mom got us up and we were out on a mission today, hehehe. You will understand in a minute.

My step sister (Kalyn) has had a project to work on for school about any of the California Missions. Yesterday her and my mom were working on the report and trying to figure some type of craft project to do. Since she has never been to a Mission, my mom and her dad decided to take a family trip today to San Juan Capistrano Mission. We had a great time and learned many new things. I think it all started to make since to Kayln after seeing the mission in person after she read about it all day yesterday.

I did not want to leave all of you without photos, so I uploaded a couple to show you. The first one is a picture of me, Kalyn and my mom in front of a garden in the middle of the mission. The second was the sunset at the beach this evening. We were only a few miles away so we decided to hang out there and enjoy the scenery. It was absolutely beautiful.
